About Us
How We Started
Susan Caccivio Founder and Director
"While waiting to adopt my son Conor from Belarus in 2001 and my daughter Ava Rose from Russia in 2002, I
taught myself to crochet and made them their first blankies.  They loved their "Mama blankies"so much it made me
think of all the babies left behind who would never have a handmade treasure"  KFA began in 2003 with just 2
members!... Now over 300 and growing daily!!
How We Operate
Members work in the comfort of their own homes.  A newsletter is distributed regularly and website updated to announce
projects or shipments we are preparing.  Deadlines and specifics for size and garment type are communicated.  All you
need to do to help is:
  1. Create something specified in the newsletter for an upcoming trip or current project
  2. Make what you like to make in a size you are comfortable with and we will find a child who needs it!
  3. Tell a friend you might be interested in joining our project.
